Better service quality to serve a greater number of passengers
Mr. Vu The Phiet, the general director of ACV, stated that the total passenger volume of airports serving the peak period of the Lunar New Year in 2023 was 10,166,496 people, a decrease of 3.81 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. This is a 66.9% increase compared to the same period during Lunar New Year 2022. International passengers are 2,327,891, a decrease of 36.99% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year in 2020 and an increase of 2,155.71% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year in 2022. Domestic passengers are 7,838,605, an increase of 14.03% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year in 2020 and an increase of 30.9% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year in 2022.
ACV general director gave a speech at the evaluation conference
Significantly, domestic passengers at certain airports increased dramatically compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year 2020 (the period not yet affected by the Covid-19 epidemic), including Phu Quoc (53.17%), Lien Khuong (56.53%), Buon Me Thuot (45.38%), Pleiku (44.53%), Con Dao (109.46%), and Dien Bien (193.15%).
However, international passenger volume has not entirely rebounded because China has just recently opened its borders, there have been only a few of charter flights to Vietnam, and East Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea have continued to be severely impacted by the Covivirus-19 pandemic. International passenger volume data indicated that Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports have reached 75-77% of their pre-pandemic levels, while Da Nang and Cam Ranh have reached more than 54% and Phu Quoc has reached roughly 24%. approximately 35% compared to before the epidemic. The progressive increase in international passenger volume throughout the Lunar New Year period, from 60% to 75% of passenger volume compared to before the pandemic, is a positive sign.
Capacity of SLOTS in use was nearly 90%
At 21 airports of ACV, the percentage of using slots to the total number of slots given by domestic airlines was 88.69%.
The service and operation of night flights were ensured, and the airlines effectively managed the delay rate of night flights, which was comparable to that of daytime flights.
Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, Director of Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam stated at the evaluation conference
Ensuring the absolute safety and security
Airports have fully and promptly implemented aviation security procedures in accordance with the National Aviation Security Committee, the Ministry of Transport, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam in order to ensure the safety and security of airport operations.
It can be stated that the 2023 Lunar New Year is considered the best service ever when the domestic passenger volume is the highest in the history of the Lunar New Year holidays despite limited infrastructure and a lack of human resources, as well as difficulties in recruiting as a result of Covid-19 devastation.
The service to capitalize on the peak of the Lunar New Year 2023 of ACV has received numerous positive responses from passengers, the general public, press agencies, and media.
