From the end of 2019, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has installed and conducted Airport Operations Control Centers (AOCC) at Noi Bai Int’l Airport, Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport and Da Nang Int’l Airport, the ACV’s three largest international airports in term of passenger volume, cargos and aircraft movements. These AOCCs has been equipped modern facilities and technologies in order to improve the effectiveness of operational activities at airports.

With AOCCs, our largest operational frequency airports shall improve the systematic management capability, be proactive in control and execution, effectively optimize infrastructures and facilities capacity at the airports. 

To put the ACOOs into effective operation, it requires the participation and cooperation from all related units in the airport operational chain including airport operator, air traffic management organization, ground handling service providers, airlines, local competent authorities, etc. The coordination among relevant units is clearly regulated by Regulation of sharing information and making decision at airports which was ratified by Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV)

The effective cooperation in sharing information and operation helps improve and optimize all the operational managements at airport as well as ensure accuracy and timeliness in all processes including the management of aircraft stands, boarding gates, check-in counters, luggage stations, etc. Furthermore, this coordination will enhance the ability to control and supervise ground handling facilities at apron and to manage infrastructures, apron, obstacles, bird and wild animals. From the above factors, it can be stated that AOCC increases the consistency and transparence of all operational activities to decrease taxiway congestions and delays, to ensure safety and security and to improve the customer satisfaction.

From that effectiveness of AOCC at the three biggest airports, ACV is preparing to install and put AOCC into operation at all airport class 2 and 3.
