On April 19, 2021, the campaign of vaccination against Covid19 ceremony had launched by Can Tho city’s Department of Health and implemented the sample injection site at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Can Tho city (CDC Can Tho).

CDC Can Tho had vaccinated the AstraZeneca vaccine to prevent COVID-19 for priority staffs including 12 people such as airport security and services staffs at Can Tho International Airport.

Can Tho International Airport assigned to serve repatriation flights which are carrying Vietnamese passengers from epidemic areas back to the country. From March 1, 2020, up until present, Can Tho International Airport has served a total of 114 repatriation flights with a number of 23,709 people (appox. 1/3 of the country) from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, UK, Germany, Australia, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Russia, Brunei, Canada, France, Cyprus, Netherlands, Czech Republic.

As a front-line airport receiving repatriation flights from epidemic zones back to the country, Can Tho International Airport is on top of the priority list for Covid- 19 vaccination in the first phase. There will be more than 200 airport staffs who is expected to get vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccination in the near future.
