On December 24, 2022, Airports Corporation of Vietnam kicked off the construction of Passenger Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Chairman of the city People's Committee Phan Van Mai, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) Nguyen Hoang Anh, and leaders of ministries, departments, and HCMC's authorities were in attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Project of passenger terminal T2 has 4 floors with a total area of 139,000 m2, it is designed with the concept of a wing in harmony with nature, maximizing natural light, saving energy. The terminal will be invested in modern facilities, according to international standards. The duration of project is 34 months, and scheduled for completion in November 2014.
The area of International terminal was completely new-built in 2007 by ACV; however, the Domestic Terminal was old and degraded with many problems in operation. Therefore, the repair and expansion of the old Domestic Terminal – Tan Son Nhat International Airport are necessary for the following purposes :
