In the framework activities of inspection programme of aviation safety in Vietnam from 15 June to 22 June, ICAO Inspection team spent a day assessing of ensuring aviation safety at Noi Bai International Airport. Safety specialists of CAAV had joined assessment team for support.
On 21st June, at the meeting at Noi Bai Int’l airport, ICAO specialists had a site visit including runway, taxiway, apron, fire fighting station, the Command of emergency operation, air traffic tower and review materials, operation process at the airport.
ICAO experts had stated positive commentaries on aviation safety level in compliance with ICAO standards and the Vietnamese law.
Pursuant to current ICAO standards, assessments undertaken by the ICAO Inspection team have found that Vietnam’s performance in aviation safety assurance achieves the average point of 6.7 – higher than the international average point (presently as 6.5). As a result, Vietnam’s aviation safety index is higher than international standard.
This achievement is attributed to the instruction of state administrative bodies and Airports Corporation of Vietnam regarding airport safety level nationwide and Noi Bai Int’l Airport in particular during the last time. Ensuring absolute safety for all flights and flight activities at airports under every condition has always been the top priority of ACV. In recent years, ACV has been investing thousands of billions VND to improve, expand and modernize airport infrastructure in accordance with international standard, airports are furnished with modern facilities to ensure aviation safety, improve the nationwide airport service quality.
