The design team of Passenger Terminal T2 at Phu Bai International Airport received the prestigious Gold Award in the Special Architectural Works category
Passenger Terminal T2 at Phu Bai International Airport, with its contemporary appearance and impressive scale, is the culmination of a scientific research process, founded on a thorough understanding of basic requirements and close coordination among relevant stakeholders. Passenger Terminal T2 is an architectural statement, inspired by the enduring symbols of the region including the majesty of the Ngu Binh Mountain range, the poetic beauty of the Huong River, and the depth of the cultural-historic heritage of the Ancient Empire.
The exterior of Terminal T2 prominently features the architectural hallmarks of Hue's imperial palaces, with impressive, modernly stylized and applied stacked roof layers. From the approach road, the terminal's roof extends and soars, creating an image akin to a Hue imperial palace ascending into the sky. This design not only embodies a symbol of the past but also an aspiration to rise, ushering in a modern, promising future.

Inside the terminal, the space is designed to be open, warmly and congenially welcoming passengers. The large eaves not only create an architectural focal point but also protect passengers from Hue's characteristic rains. Natural light is introduced through a wooden louver system, illuminating the surface of a landscape pond on the terrace, rendering the space serene and harmonious with nature. This is a space that is not merely a transportation hub but also offers a memorable experience for all travelers.

Terminal T2 is planned based on scientific forecasts of passenger demand, concurrently integrating long-term expansion planning solutions. This ensures the facility can flexibly adapt to fluctuations and growth in the aviation industry amidst globalization, maintain superior service quality, and simultaneously optimize construction and operational costs. The adept response to diverse operational characteristics and situations not only enhances the efficiency of the terminal's building functions but also sustains and augments the facility's value for many years to come.
With these two prestigious awards, Passenger Terminal T2 at Phu Bai International Airport has once again affirmed its status as an exemplary architectural work, a proud cultural symbol of Thua Thien Hue province, and a significant contribution to the cause of national architectural development. The project is not just a key transportation hub but also a memorable impression, a compelling testament to the harmonious fusion of contemporary architecture, optimal operational efficiency, and the sublimation of enduring heritage values.
This achievement simultaneously reaffirms ACV's strong commitment to its ongoing journey of creating and developing the national aviation infrastructure system. Each project invested in and constructed by ACV not only aims to excellently serve transportation and make a significant contribution to strengthening national defense but is also entrusted with the mission of becoming an iconic architectural and cultural landmark. These are works that reflect the distinctive cultural identity of each locality, serving as a collective source of pride, thereby contributing to enhancing Vietnam's image and standing on the international stage.
