September 30, 2025 – Phu Bai International Airport hosted a working session with a group of delegation from Korean Air to discuss the potential for opening new international routes in the Central Vietnam region.
The Korean Air delegation was led by Mr. Seo KyoungSoo, General Manager for the Southeast Asia Region. He was accompanied by Mr. Lee JunWoo, Regional Assistant Manager, and Ms. Kang Kyoung Hee, Country Manager for Korean Air in Vietnam.

During the session, representatives from Phu Bai International Airport presented the airport's current operational capacity, infrastructure, passenger services, and upcoming expansion and upgrade projects. The Korean Air team expressed significant interest in the aviation tourism market's growth potential in Hue City and the broader Central region. They also praised Phu Bai International Airport's strategic location for connecting the area to major international aviation hubs.
The two parties discussed the possibility of collaborating on direct flights from South Korea to Hue to meet the increasing demand for travel, tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two nations. The Korean Air delegation also conducted a site survey of the airport's functional areas to assess its operational infrastructure.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Trieu, Director of Phu Bai International Airport, affirmed the airport's readiness to coordinate and create favorable conditions for Korean Air to research and launch flight operations in the near future. He noted that such a partnership would contribute to developing the international flight network and promoting cultural, tourism, and trade exchange between Vietnam and South Korea.
