Owing to the severe impact of the storm No. 1, namely TALIM, Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Hai Phong), and Van Don (Quang Ninh) international airports will be temporarily closed from 9 am to 8 pm on July 18.
CAAV has sent a dispatch to relevant aviation units in response to the approach of storm No. 1, which is expected to hit Quang Ninh on the evening of July 18.
According to weather forecasts, CAAV has requested to temporarily stop all arrivals and departures in Northern airports on July 18. In specific, Noi Bai airport is temporarily closed from 11 am to 8 pm while Cat Bi and Van Don airports are temporarily closed from 9 am to 7 pm.
Noi Bai and Cat Bi have coordinated with airlines and relevant stakeholders to adjust the flight schedule to/from the airports as well as shelter aircrafts properly.
On July 15, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) directed airports under its management to proactively respond to the storm No.1 together with ensuring safety and security in operation.
Accordingly, Northern airports affected by the storm No.1 have been required to implement the national plan on natural disaster prevention and control, remain on duty 24 hours, and closely monitor the situation to take timely response measures.
