Da Nang International Airport is honored to welcome Cebu Pacific Air for the first time as it introduces its flight service to the Da Nang market with a direct route from Manila, Philippines. Flight number 5J5757, carrying 177 passengers, safely landed at Da Nang International Airport at 21:30 PM on December 7, 2023.
After market research, Cebu Pacific Air has chosen Da Nang as its third Vietnamese city for flight operation, with a frequency of three flights per week (on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). The airline utilizes the A320NEO aircraft with a capacity of 188 seats.
The significant event took place at the international arrival terminal of Da Nang International Airport, attended by representatives from the Embassy of the Philippines in Vietnam, of the Department of Tourism, Central Vietnam Airports Authority, Da Nang International Airport Corporation, Da Nang Investment and Development of International Terminal Joint Stock Company (AHT), Da Nang Tourism Association, Da Nang Tourism Development Fund, Cebu Pacific Air, and representatives from various media agencies.
The welcoming program included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, artistic performances, souvenir distribution, free voucher giveaways. Additionally, three lucky passengers were awarded round-trip voucher tickets from Manila to Da Nang by Cebu Pacific Air.
As of December 7, 2023, Da Nang International Airport is currently operating 16 regular international routes, connecting various countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and more. With the addition of the Manila (Philippines) route, the frequency of flights at the airport is expected to reach 45-50 flights per day.
The Manila – Da Nang route, a successful outcome of the Asia Routes 2022 Forum, is expected to bring more diversity to Da Nang's tourism, enhancing connections with key tourist destinations in the regions as well as continents. This marks a crucial turning point in Da Nang's tourism development, presenting numerous collaboration opportunities in the future.
