In an effort to maintain the reliability and operational efficiency of navigational systems, ensuring absolute flight safety during all takeoff and landing activities, the Airside Operations Center of Da Nang coordinated with the Flight Inspection Center – under the Air Traffic Management Technical Services Company – to conduct a periodic flight inspection of landing support systems at Da Nang International Airport on June 8–9, 2025.

The inspection covered the following systems:

  • ILS/DME (Instrument Landing System / Distance Measuring Equipment) for both runways 35R and 35L: This system plays a crucial role in helping pilots accurately determine their approach direction and distance to the runway under poor weather and low visibility conditions, ensuring safe and precise landings.
  • PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) for both runways 35R and 35L: This visual aid system provides pilots with information to correctly adjust their altitude and approach path during the final landing phase.
  • ALS (Approach Lighting System) for both runways 35R and 35L: A vital system that supports aircraft landings in low-light or adverse weather conditions, improving pilots’ visibility and orientation during approach.

This periodic inspection is a key part of maintenance efforts to ensure the technical accuracy, stability, and optimal performance of the airport's navigational and landing support systems. It is a mandatory procedure regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and strictly adheres to international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Through this flight inspection, Da Nang International Airport once again affirms its commitment to aviation safety while continually improving the quality of air traffic operations and management, in line with international standards. This effort also contributes to reinforcing Da Nang's position as a key aviation hub in the Central region and across Vietnam.
