The 16th Asia Route Development Forum - Routes Asia will be held for the first time in Vietnam in 2022, with Danang City being selected as the hosts. The event will take place during 3 days from 6th June 2022 in Danang with the companionship of IPP Travel Retail, a subsidiary of IPPG and Informa Routes, United Kingdom.
Routes Asia is an annual international event organized by the air service community of countries around the world. Since the success of the first event in 1995, up to now, region-specific events include World Routes, Routes Americas, Routes Europe, Routes Africa and Routes Asia.
With the aim of providing an networking opportunity for airlines, airports and travel businesses in the Asia region, the Routes Asia forum is expected to contribute to rebuild international tourism activities and develop global air routes. As being chosen as the host city of Routes Asia 2022, Danang can seize the chance to promote its image, development potential, and establish cooperative relationships with major airlines in the world, then expand regional and global aviation networks.
Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of Danang People’s Committee, said: “Routes Asia will provide a golden opportunity to promote inbound tourism opportunities and drive the socio-economic growth for the city. By hosting the event, we will proactively position Da Nang as a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, logistics, finance and culture.”
Speaking at World Routes, Steven Small, Director of Routes, said: “We are very excited to be working with Da Nang People’s Committee and their strategic partners to bring Routes Asia to the city in 2022. Routes Asia will play an integral part in Danang achieving its ambitious masterplan to become the socio-economic centre of the country by 2045.”
With experience in serving plenty of large-scaled festivals and events, Danang International Airport is ready to support the City in welcoming and showcasing a safe, friendly and attractive tourist destination in the eyes of foreign friends. With the capacity of up to 15.5 million passengers in 2019 and modern equipment system, Danang International Airport has attracted more than 30 airlines operating 40 routes to/from 11 Asian countries such as Korea Republic, China, Japan, Doha, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, etc. The airport has obtained the Accreditation Certificate (AHA) issued by ACI and continued to renewal in 2022, as well as deployed the Green Corridor program to ensure the safety of aviation operations in the "new normal" conditions.
